14 tests have been conducted using the shieldex statex thread. As shown in the graph, we have used several lengths and weights on our testing procedure. Based on these tests, a max 7.14% contraction has been reached with SHieldex statex 235/34 single PLY.

Based on the results from using Shieldex Statex single PLY and Monofilament fishing line, we have concluded that these two materials did not achieve a 30% contraction. Hence, we have tested another conductive thread from the same brand Shieldex Statex thread, but instead we have tested a double PLY or double strand thread. After conducting tests with these material, a 25% contraction has been reached using an average voltage of 12-13 V and an average current of 1 – 1.3 ohms. Moreover, as a way to test the longevity of these artificial muscle, we have conducted 3 contractibility tests (Table 1). A total of 360 contractions have resulted from 1 hour of recurrent contractions, with 9 seconds rest and 1 second contraction.
